Outplacement Programs
Career Directions’ outplacement programs support both employers and employees in making the separation process as productive and painless as possible. Our client organizations take pride in the services we provide and are worry-free about wrongful discharge litigation. We offer employers layoff and facility closing consultation designed to increase the effectiveness of the organization and its employees during transition.
While all of our outplacement programs will be tailored to meet the specific needs of your organization and the skill sets of those who seek new employment, we provide these core programs as models of what your organization might choose to put in place. Other specialized components, such as our retirement planning program, can be added as appropriate.
Comprehensive Career Transition for Experienced Professionals
These one-month, three-month and six-month outplacement programs consist of private, one-on-one career consulting and/or small-group workshops. Options for office space and administrative support also exist. These programs provide the services and fundamental training necessary to establish and conduct a successful job campaign. Candidates receive support in assessing job fit and whether re-careering is an appropriate strategy for them, along with resume preparation and interview coaching. Workbooks and 24×7 access to robust online job-finding services, resources, and databases are part of this package. The duration of these services can vary, as appropriate to your organization and the level benefit you wish to extend to those in various positions.
Executive Twelve-Month Career Transition Program
We designed this outplacement program for the unique job search requirements of executives, including vice presidents, directors and other top-level managers. We highly tailor each program, led by a senior-level coach, to exceed even the most discriminating expectations. We know that executives need an experienced partner. Career Directions, like other CPI partner firms around the world, has a solid reputation for working successfully with executives from top corporations across many industries. We understand the contacts needed to secure executive positions or launch an entrepreneurial venture. With more than 160 offices in twenty countries, our network is extensive. We make introductions and remain an active part of the executive’s network. And we provide strong logistical support. All services are provided for twelve months.
Group Outplacement
For companies that cannot afford individualized programs, Career Directions offers one- and two-day Job Finding Workshops. During these workshops, our senior staff provide an unusual degree of individual attention in spite of the time constraints. Topics include: managing the transition, career planning, resume and cover letter writing, interviews and salary negotiation, and other topics as requested. A unique Individual Coaching Supplement further helps candidates to tailor and apply what they learned in the group sessions. A recent participant said, “I found the group setting very beneficial in going through this difficult time with others. You did a great job in giving us confidence about the future.”
Partner/Spouse Relocation Assistance
Executives being hired or transferred often have a trailing partner or spouse who must make a career transition to the new location. Career Directions offers special counseling and support for those who are being “uprooted,” in addition to access to our robust career transition services. Providing these services enhances the couple’s perception of the relocation opportunity, enlists the partner’s active support for the transfer, and provides personal support and confidence to the partner in adapting to the new community. Our pre-relocation consultation services can be used to help the couple determine the marketability of the skills of the partner/spouse in the new location, availability of comparable positions, the salary range to anticipate, and other factors such as commute time. As a CPI partner firm, we have access to “insider information” about the job market in other geographic areas, and we can help partners/spouses make connections via our partner firms in or near the new geographic location. This service is also available for purchase by individuals.
