Powerful ConversationsTM is a signature service of Career Directions. Led by founder David Gruner, Powerful ConversationsTM is a breakthrough experiential learning program for executives and managers, combining interactive seminars and performance coaching. The program is offered to attendees from different organizations, or can be specifically customized to meet the needs of multiple participants in a single organization.

Program Components

Powerful ConversationsTM includes both a seminar component and a coaching component, unless only a single component is desired. This program can be specifically tailored to meet the needs and structure of any organization. A special version of the program is also available for an individual leader.

  • The seminar component typically consists of 4 experiential learning sessions staged over a 4 to 6 month period. Participating managers learn skills critical to developing their direct reports, and then apply those skills to “live” work situations.
  • The coaching component typically consists of 4 to 6 one-on-one coaching sessions that are interspersed between the seminar components. The first-hand experience of developmental coaching provides participants with a model of the coaching process, motivating them to provide similar coaching to their own direct reports.
